Everybody has that one fruit they love too much. For me, it’s BANANAS. They’re my go-to for everything. I think I love them even more because they can be used to make Ice cream – DIY style.
I’m sure the fit-fam will give their personal experience with fruits and which one works best for them. I know some people that don’t eat apples or some that don’t even like oranges. I couldn’t believe it when someone turned down pineapples.
Whatchu talkn about “I don’t eat pineapples”?
Anyways, the point is that everybody has fruits they love and fruits they don’t want near their mouths.
This post is about a different breed of “fruits”: ones that caught my eye in the most unusual place. I didn’t think fruits like those even existed and yet I found them to be so lovely and relatable.
A few days ago, after struggling with the very unusual urge to open my Bible and study God’s word, I came across a Bible passage. This time it was a passage I had read before. I think that day I read it because I was trying to prove a point but I read it now because I wanted to understand more.
Do you feel like sometimes when you want to study The Word of God, excitement fills your heart? I haven’t felt that rush in a long time. I didn’t want to feel anything for a long time but here we are blogging about our exciting encounter with God.
“Dear God, thank you for creating me in Your amazing and beautiful image. Thank you for reminding me that my worth is more than any measure. Thank you for reminding me that my uniqueness is special and should be celebrated”
That’s the prayer I had on my Journal. I opened my bible app, went into “The Proverbial Girl” plan and that was what I had for today, a few beautiful words after and finally, the best part…
Galatians 5: 22-23 [AMP]
“But the fruit of the Spirit [the result of His presence within us] is love [unselfish concern for others], joy, [inner] peace, patience [not the ability to wait, but how we act while waiting], kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such things there is no law”
Was that fun to read? Ok let’s try it again. This time in another Version
Galatians 5:22-23 [MSG]
“But what happens when we live God’s way? He brings gifts into our lives, much the same way that fruit appears in an orchard – things like affection for others, exuberance about life, serenity. We develop a willingness to stick with things, a sense of compassion in the heart, and a conviction involved in loyal commitments, not needing to force our way in life, able to marshal and direct our energies wisely”
These words were too beautiful for me to keep to myself. I hope you read this and inspiration and the yearning for more fills your heart. I pray you read this and be motivated to eat these amazing fruits.
Most of all, I hope you have a beautiful Friday!
