Let me just start by saying until December last year, I did not think a cafe even existed in Port Harcourt. I’ve lived here since I was born and I’m still struggling to understand certain locations. Some of these places have even been up for longer than I thought and I never heard of them.
I’m a changed woman now. I have to use this opportunity to see, experience and feel more. Sitting around and screaming “I’m bored” won’t solve the problem of boredom.
**UPDATE (06 Feb 2019)**
I have been getting reviews that Woodhouse’s customer service has not been appreciated. In fact, I had to see for myself and I confirm it 100%. They have bad customer service and are very unapologetic about the way they treat their customers.
Typing and writing a list of places I want to visit or dreaming about them will never make up for actually experiencing these places.
I decided to try a few new places in my city (Port Harcourt, Nigeria). Luckily, I got to visit this amazing café in GRA before it’s official opening which is coming up soon. (YAY!!!! I’ll give you guys that information when I get it). Just know it’s sooner than you think.
In other news, this place is gorgeous. the ambience is even better. It feels like somewhere you can just sit and read while cool jazz is playing in the background. Somewhere you can hang out with friends quietly: if you don’t necessarily subscribe to the more up-beat type of environment.
I actually caught them off guard so I couldn’t take pictures of what it looked like outside. Luckily, it was more organized inside.
This is what it looked like…
See what I said about the place. Isn’t it beautiful?
The owner was kind enough to ask what I wanted to have (even though, I literally invaded their space… hehehe). I suck at picking meals or anything. I really suck. I just behaved myself and asked for anything with chocolate. I knew whatever was coming from a beautiful space like that had to be nice to taste.
I was first served this…
Frozen Hot Chocolate
Trust the sweet tooth inside of me to jump for joy!!!. I even took pictures after I had a good sip of my Chocolate drink. If you’re like me, you’d love this drink especially with the cookie. I left the candy the candy for much later.
Before I could finish with my drink, another tasty treat was served to my table…
This meal didn’t hit my good spot as I expected but that’s probably because I personally prefer my waffles to be crispy. Apart from that, it was good.
I was really excited about the beautiful interior decorations and how simple but detailed it was.
My Final verdict? On a scale of 1-5 with 5 being excellent and 1 being poor, I would say…
Location: 3 ( this could change tho. They’re fixing the road so reaching there was not very simple. Some of us don’t have car.)
Customer Service: 4
Would I recommend Woodhouse Café to anyone? YES!
