Who knew having coffee from the corner would be so memorable. This Corner Store Café Review might convince you.
If you are in the city of port harcourt, you must have heard of SWEET TOOTH. If you have not been there, then you are on a long thing. Seriously you are!
I can’t believe I ignored a café in this port harcourt.
As a self-acclaimed foodie and reviewer, it is my duty to know everywhere in this city and beyond.
A little backstory…
I am a frequent customer, friend and lover of sweet tooth. For as long as I have known the pastry shop, I honestly never paid any attention to the other store beside it. As life would have it, I went there to have some ice cream and the other lovely space got my attention. Actually, the smell of coffee did.
Turns out, it’s a café and they have been there for as long as sweet tooth has been in town.
So why did YRN chose to ignore this beautiful place?
I honestly don’t know!!!
That morning, I felt the need to visit somewhere I had never been before. I’m glad I walked into the corner store. It was definitely worth my time.
Inside the Corner Store Café
I love beautiful spaces and it didn’t take time before I fell in love with their wooden accents. The white chairs were a little different from what I’m used to and as I am not exactly gifted with height, I did not want to disgrace myself trying to jump on them. I found myself a beautiful corner by the window to enjoy the sun and experience the serenity.
There’s something about sitting in the corner store. I haven’t exactly felt that relaxed in a café. No jokes. I’m not trying to patronize them. I just felt like it didn’t matter what was happening outside. It wasn’t quiet but it just had the perfect sound.
Maybe it was the way I felt that day. Maybe it was something about the smell of coffee. Whatever it was, it was tranquil.
And the taste?…
After staring at the menu for over 10 minutes, I finally ordered a cappuccino and a muffin.
I’m probably the most confused person when I’m ordering for food. Every time I have to choose what to eat, the wind of confusion blows in my direction.
I was very quick to choose an Expresso. It seemed like the easiest option and I could really use the rush. God bless the waitress for advising me to have a cappuccino.
They served the cappuccino with biscuits (I honestly wasn’t expecting it). I guess they deserve an extra star for this + the biscuits were lovely.
I’ll give the cappuccino a 4.0. I’ll hold the remaining until I test their consistency.
The muffin tasted really good but I honestly wanted a little extra intensity. My taste buds were craving extra flavour. So I guess a 3.8 is what I could come up with.
What did I like?
- Customer service
What didn’t I like?
- Wall Pictures were not perfectly aligned
I’m not trying to be petty but I find it disturbing to have pictures slanting on the wall. I had to call a waitress to have the management look at it. I hope it was handled.
Apart from that, the corner store has a good mark from me.
It is fit for all. Like N1,000 will get you a cup of something at least. I promise to review their veggie wrap on my next visit.
If you’re in Port Harcourt and you’re looking for a café with a lot on their menu, Corner Store is a really good choice.
Plus incase you change your mind, you can always have some ice cream next door.
